What is Anxiety?

Anxiety is a natural response to stress, but when it becomes excessive, persistent, and interferes with daily life, it may be classified as an anxiety disorder. There are several types of anxiety disorders, including:

    • Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD): Characterized by excessive, uncontrollable worry about various aspects of life.
    • Panic Disorder: Involves sudden, intense episodes of fear and discomfort, known as panic attacks.
    • Social Anxiety Disorder: Extreme fear of social situations and being judged by others.
    • Specific Phobias: Intense fear of specific objects or situations.
    • Separation Anxiety Disorder: Primarily diagnosed in children, this involves excessive anxiety about separation from attachment figures (e.g., parents) that is beyond what is considered developmentally appropriate.

A Holistic & Integrated Approach to Anxiety Treatment

Our Omaha anxiety therapy services are crafted to assist individuals in creating effective strategies for managing their symptoms. Each treatment plan is customized to address the unique needs of our patients, promoting personal growth and development. We offer a comprehensive approach, blending medication management with therapeutic interventions to achieve the best possible outcomes.

We emphasize a holistic approach to anxiety treatment by integrating therapy and psychiatry. Our treatment plans are collaborative efforts involving therapists, psychiatrists, and primary care providers, ensuring personalized and well-rounded support. Additionally, we offer long-term follow-up and continuous care to help our patients flourish.

    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Focuses on changing negative thought patterns and behaviors.
    • Exposure Therapy: Gradual exposure to anxiety-inducing situations to reduce fear.
    • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): An effective therapy for patients with anxiety, helping them process and release distressing memories or triggers that fuel anxious thoughts. Through guided eye movements or bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps reduce the emotional intensity of anxiety, promoting a calmer, more balanced mindset.
    • Mindfulness-Based Therapy: Uses mindfulness practices to reduce anxiety and stress.
    • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Helps individuals accept their thoughts and feelings and commit to behavior changes.
    • Medication Management: Our board certified psychiatry specialist monitors and adjusts medications to find the most effective regimen. Medications range from stimulants to non-stimulants
