After graduating with honors from Creighton University in 1981, Dr. Sedlacek began medical school at UNMC where he chose to dedicate his career to Psychiatry. Since completing residency training at the combined Creighton/Nebraska program in 1989, he has been affiliated with Psychiatric Services, P.C. as the current senior member.

Psychiatric Services has emphasized leadership in the mental community, and Dr. Sedlacek has served as the President of the Nebraska Psychiatric Society and chaired multiple committees at Methodist Hospital and Richard Young Hospital.
