What is ADHD?

ADHD, or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. There are three types of ADHD:

    • Inattentive Type: Difficulty focusing, following instructions, and completing tasks.
    • Hyperactive-Impulsive Type: Excessive movement, fidgeting, and impulsive behavior.
    • Combined Type: Symptoms of both inattention and hyperactivity-impulsivity.

What is ADD?

ADD, or Attention Deficit Disorder, is a subtype of ADHD characterized primarily by inattention and distractibility without the hyperactivity component. Understanding the nuances of ADD is crucial for effective treatment. Unlike ADHD, individuals with ADD may not exhibit excessive fidgeting or hyperactive behavior, making it less noticeable but equally challenging.
